Topics
01Dates and enquiries
Can I book a date through the website?
No. Our enquiry form sends us a request for your preferred date. It does not reserve the date. We reply within one working day to let you know if the date is available, and nothing is booked until we confirm it with you in writing.
How far ahead should we enquire?
Most couples enquire 12 to 18 months before a Saturday wedding in summer. Corporate events and celebrations are usually planned 2 to 6 months ahead. Shorter notice is often possible, especially on weekdays, so it is always worth asking.
Can you hold a date while we decide?
After your visit we can usually hold a date for you for 7 days while you think it over. We will confirm the hold, and when it ends, by email.
Do you host more than one event a day?
No. We host one event a day, so the venue and grounds are reserved for you and your guests only.
02Capacity and spaces
How many guests can The Willow hold?
The Great Barn seats up to 150 guests for dinner and up to 180 for an evening reception. The Orangery seats up to 60 for dinner and the Walled Garden holds up to 120 for a ceremony. Exact numbers depend on your layout.
What happens if it rains?
Every outdoor ceremony or drinks reception comes with a wet-weather plan. The Orangery and the Great Barn can be set up as a back-up, and we decide together on the morning.
Is the venue accessible?
Yes. There are level paths, step-free entrances to every space and accessible toilets in the barn and the orangery. Let us know about any access needs and we will plan around them.
03Catering and drinks
Do you provide catering?
We work with three recommended local caterers who know the venue well, from relaxed sharing feasts to formal three-course dining. You choose your caterer and menu, and they can arrange a tasting.
Can we bring our own caterer?
Yes, with our agreement. Outside caterers need suitable insurance and a food hygiene rating of 5. A kitchen fee may apply, which we include in your quote.
Can you cater for dietary requirements?
Yes. All of our recommended caterers offer vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free and halal options, and they can plan around allergies.
Is there a bar?
Yes. The Great Barn has a licensed bar run by our own team. You can choose a drinks package, a tab, a cash bar or a mix of all three.
04Prices and deposits
Are the prices on the website final?
No. Prices on our packages page are sample prices to help you plan. Your quote depends on your date, guest numbers and choices, and we confirm it in writing after your visit.
Do you take a deposit?
Not through this website, which does not take any payments. If you decide to go ahead after your visit, we send you our booking terms in writing, including any deposit and payment dates, before anything is confirmed.
What is included in the package price?
Each package lists its inclusions. Exclusive use, furniture, a coordinator, set-up and clear-down, a wet-weather plan and parking come as standard. Catering, drinks and styling are quoted separately.
05Visits and planning
Can we visit before we decide?
Of course. Private tours run Tuesday to Saturday by appointment, and last about an hour. Send an enquiry or a message and we will arrange a time that suits you.
Will we have one point of contact?
Yes. You have a named events coordinator from your first visit to the day itself, who also runs the event on the day.
What time do events finish?
Music finishes at 11.30pm and guests leave by midnight. Corporate days usually finish by 5.30pm, with evening dinners available.
Can guests stay overnight?
The Willow does not have bedrooms on site, but there are guesthouses and hotels within three miles. We share a list with you when you book.
